The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District has announced upcoming access restrictions at Blue Marsh Lake due to paving and roadway rehabilitation projects. The closures, originally scheduled to begin on April 11, have been delayed and will now start on May 1, 2025.
The updated schedule may affect access during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, with potential parking limitations and closures in several popular park areas.
The following locations will be impacted by closures or access restrictions: The Visitor Center and Administration Area
Stilling Basin Access, including the Blue Marsh Lake Trail and the Mountain Bike Skills Area
Dry Brooks Day Use Area, including the swim beach, pavilions, bathroom facilities, and the Eyes of the Eagle Sensory Trail
Blue Marsh Lake Trail between the Dry Brooks Boat Ramp and Water Road, where resurfacing work will take place using recycled millings from the paving operations
In addition, the Blue Marsh Lake Trail at Mount Pleasant Bridge will be temporarily closed from April 21 through May 9, 2025, to accommodate PennDOT paving work.
Boat ramps and other access points to the park will remain open during the construction period. Visitors are urged not to enter closed areas or trail sections to ensure their safety and that of construction personnel.
