The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced several upcoming roadwork projects across Berks County. Drivers should plan for potential delays and exercise caution when traveling through the affected areas.
Construction will take place on Interstate 78 between Exit 29 (PA 61) and Exit 30 (Hamburg). Lane restrictions will be in place in both directions during nighttime hours from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on April 1 through April 2. PennDOT has confirmed that rain will not cause delays for this project.
In Tilden Township, sweeping operations will be conducted along PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and West Huller Lane. While no lane restrictions are planned, motorists should expect delays. The work will occur from March 31 to April 4 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Rain may impact the schedule.
Brush cutting will take place along Interstate 78 between Exit 30 (Hamburg) and Exit 35 (PA 143) in Tilden and Windsor Townships. The work is scheduled from March 31 to April 3 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. No lane restrictions will be in effect, but drivers are advised to expect delays. Rain may cause schedule changes.
In Tilden and Windsor Townships, brush cutting will also occur along PA 61 between the Schuylkill County Line and Lowland Road. A northbound lane restriction will be in effect on April 4 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area. Rain may impact the schedule.
Paving work will be performed in Bern Township along PA 183 (Bernville Road) between Plum Creek Road and Bernville Road. The project is scheduled to take place from March 31 through April 4 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. A lane restriction with flagging will be in effect, and rain may cause delays.
In District Township, brush cutting will take place along Long Lane between Landis Store Road and Lobachsville Road. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect on March 31 and again from April 2 to April 4, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. Motorists should expect delays, and the work is weather-dependent.
Rockland Township will also see roadwork on Forgedale Road between Pricetown Road and Dryville Road. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in place on April 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drivers should anticipate delays, and rain may affect the work schedule.
