The United States Postal Service has unveiled its newest Forever stamp in the popular Love series, celebrating the theme of love through the work of iconic artist Keith Haring. The Love (2025) stamp, featuring Haring’s untitled 1985 drawing of two figures reaching toward a red heart, was officially introduced at a ceremony Friday morning at the Kutztown Post Office in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, including family, friends, and admirers of Haring’s work. The artist, known for his vibrant and universal imagery, was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and raised in Kutztown. His art became a global phenomenon, gracing everything from public murals to gallery walls.

The stamp design, selected by USPS art director Antonio Alcalá, captures the essence of Haring’s message of inclusivity and connection. “The non-specificity of the figures allows a variety of people to see themselves in this stamp,” Alcalá explained. “Partners getting married, celebrating an anniversary, siblings sending each other a heartfelt greeting, or even party planners setting a positive tone for their event.”

Haring’s sister, Karen DeLong, expressed her pride during the unveiling. “We’re all very proud that they finally recognized my brother and his art,” she said. “The design is universal—figures mean love is for everybody, and that’s the way it should be. It’s really special to have this in Kutztown because this is where he’s from. He always introduced himself in New York as ‘Keith from Kutztown.’”

For some attendees, the unveiling was deeply personal. Northern California resident Martin Maguss, who flew in for the event, shared how Haring influenced his life and how he helped advocate for the stamp. “Keith really did change the way I look at and view art,” he said. “The biggest connection to Keith’s philosophy is ‘art should be for everybody.’”

Maguss recounted writing a letter to the Postal Service two years ago, encouraging them to create a Haring stamp. Seeing it come to fruition was an emotional moment. “I wish he was here,” he said. “I think more so than ever before, this is what we really need. I’m encouraging people to send love to everybody. It’s all about people getting together, looking past certain boundaries, and celebrating humanity.”

Haring’s artwork, with its bold lines and playful energy, continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. The Love (2025) stamp is a continuation of the USPS Love series, which began in 1973, and it serves as a tribute to Haring’s vision of unity and love.

The stamp, priced at 73 cents each and sold in panes of 20, is available at post offices nationwide and online at the USPS Postal Store. As Forever stamps, they will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.

For the Kutztown community, the unveiling was not just a celebration of art but a reminder of Haring’s enduring connection to his roots. Postmaster Bruno Facini Jr. summed up the sentiment: “It’s awesome to see somebody from the local area getting recognition with a stamp.”

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, the Love (2025) Forever stamp offers a way for people across the country to share Haring’s universal message of love, one letter at a time.
