The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have released results from a recent DUI enforcement detail conducted on November 16, 2024. This operation, part of the agency’s month-long initiative to combat impaired driving.

During the detail, which ran during late evening hours, troopers stopped 35 vehicles. As a result, two individuals were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). In addition, 21 citations were issued for various traffic violations, and 29 warnings were given to drivers.

Unlike traditional sobriety checkpoints, where officers systematically stop vehicles at a fixed location, a DUI patrol detail involves officers actively monitoring traffic for signs of impaired driving.

This enforcement detail is part of the PSP’s ongoing effort to reduce alcohol- and drug-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities. The agency has ramped up DUI patrols and enforcement throughout November, with the campaign scheduled to continue until November 30.

Drivers are reminded to always make responsible decisions, including designating a sober driver or using alternative transportation options, to ensure the safety of all road users. PSP will is expected to release additional results from the initiative at its conclusion.
