Berks County Parks releases 2024 Summer Concert Series schedule

Berks County Parks and Recreation Department has announced its schedule for the Summer 2024 Concert Series. New activities include a Kids’ Craft Table with different crafts each event. As always, events include free parking and free admission, all held at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area located at 2083 Tulpehocken Road.

Friday, June 28 | Emme Ryan | 5:30 – 8:30 pm: Emme Ryan is an indie singer/songwriter who hopes to bring people joy and connection with her songs. Her music is not able to be confined to one category; its purpose is simply to connect with peoples’ life experiences and become more personal and relational through each individual interpretation. Influenced by past eras of music, but also including fresh, new perspectives, she is forming a sound that is truly her own. Food Trucks: Lio Colon Food Bus, Next Level Pizza

Friday, July 5 | Swing That Cat | 5:30 – 8:30 pm: Born out of a simple idea and a love of good music, Swing That Cat is on a mission with a message: dance your tail off! What more could you ask for from a band that sounds like jump blues swizzled in swing with a dash of cabaret jazz and a splash of Bourbon Street. Formed in 2013, Swing That Cat has carved out a niche with a seductive sound and live shows that encourage their audiences to shimmy and shake! Food Trucks: Lio Colon Food Bus, Next Level Pizza

Friday, July 19 | Know Return | 5:30 – 8:30 pm: Journey back to the glory days of progressive rock with Know Return, a group dedicated to capturing the spirit and sound of Kansas. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, Know Return faithfully recreates the passion, energy, and musical complexity of Kansas, from classics like ‘Carry on Wayward Son,’ ‘Dust in the Wind,’ and ‘Point of Know Return’ to masterpieces like ‘Miracles Out of Nowhere,’ ‘Icarus,’ and ‘Song for America’. Friday, August 2 | Pure Jerry | 5:30 – 8:30 pm: Since 2012, Pure Jerry has had one goal: bringing life and spirit to the music of Jerry Garcia. What began as the group mantra became the band moniker. Pure Jerry continues its mission, playing classic Garcia songs, as well as Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers, The Band, Motown, and more! Fronted by veteran jam guitarist, Michael Sanfosso, the band explores the vast song book, showcasing versatile and fierce musicianship with renowned signature vocals, uncanny, and haunting. Friday, August 16 | Swing Fever | 5:30 – 8:30 pm: Swinging since 1983, this big 19-piece big band, complete with vocalists and an emcee, has been recreating the big band sound of the 1930s and 1940s and performing music selections that span over five decades. Swing Fever offers quality music with an authentic big band sound. Food Trucks: TBD
