Join guest artist Peggy Allen for an enriching experience in the tradition of theorem painting, a fascinating Early American craft that flourished from the Colonial era through the mid-1800s. This art form utilizes multiple hand-cut stencils with oil paints to replicate the appearance of hand-painted artwork, originally taught by traveling artists in finishing schools for young women.
In this workshop, you will explore a fresh design, “Fruit Basket & Flowers,” which will guide beginners through the essential techniques of theorem painting while creating this timeless Early American motif.
Tickets are $50/BHC Members and $60/Non-Members. Spaces for this event are very limited.
