Reading firefighters responded to the report of a building collapse Tuesday morning around 10am in the 100 block of South 6th Street. Arriving on-scene, firefighters found a portion of a side wall collapsed with debris on the ground. Residents of the building were evacuated with no injuries initially reported. The cause is under investigation.
Update: According to the Fire Marshal, residents called Building & Trades describing the condition of the building. Arriving on-scene and finding debris from a collapse, Building & Trades called the fire department. The multi-apartment building was evacuated and declared unsafe pending necessary repairs.
