Spring Twp: Temporary Burn Ban & Water Conservation

Alert issued: Tuesday, October 29 2024 - 03:14 PM

Due to the ongoing dry conditions, the Township of Spring Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution banning outdoor open burning in the Township until further notice. Open burning includes the ignition and subsequent burning of any combustible material (including but not limited to garbage, leaves, twigs, wood, litter, paper, vegetative matter involved with land clearing, or any sort of debris) out of doors either in a burn barrel, backyard fire pit or on the ground. The use of propane or gas stoves, charcoal briquette grills, or the use of tobacco in any form is not covered under this burn ban. Township residents are encouraged to responsibly dispose of cigarettes and related products to minimize the risk of fire. All residents are also being asked to take all reasonable measures to conserve water. Unnecessary use of water is prohibited for a period of not more than thirty (30) days from today, 10/29/24. Unnecessary use of water shall include, but is not limited to, watering of lawns, flowers, shrubbery, filling of pools and washing vehicles (excluding commercial car washes).
